Overview

Virtual contest hosted by 99 Ranch Market, seeking to attract contestants all over the states. The cooking contest theme was homemade food from childhood, thus the promotional materials need to not only be eye-catching but also convey a nostalgic feeling to the viewers. I used Chinese cultural elements to resonate with the audience since our targeted demographic is Asian ethnic groups. The goal was to select a winner to be the brand ambassador for 99 Ranch Market to help produce more video content.

Outcome

The turnout was great! We received over 100 applications and were able to select the winner to be the supermarket brand ambassador for more future collaborations.

Theme

I went with the warm tone of colors since yellow is often associated with memory, and it is also scientifically proven that warm colors such as red and orange increase appetite and are the most appealing colors on food.

Blue is there to increase contrast, but also since the color is a bit dull and muted, it further enhances the theme of childhood memory.
